Played this course for the first time a month ago and again today and I have been really impressed. Definitely one of the best courses I have played in Essex. Tee boxes, fairways and greens in excellent condition and the course is very picturesque - surrounded by countryside. It isn’t particularly long but has a number of interesting holes. The course has a small driving range - playing off grass which is great. The green fees are very reasonable given the quality of the course. The only downside is the lack of the clubhouse but there is a cafe on site which we used as well as the pro-shop. Staff were great. This is a real gem.
Excellent course quality - tee boxes and fairways in great condition for winter and greens were top-notch. Would've given it five stars if it wasn't for the grumpy staff at the pro shop & unfriendly starter.
First time playing Toot Hill today and thoroughly enjoyed it, what a great course! I personally found it challenging, the placement of the bunkers was such that I found them quite regularly, rather them than the water hazards though! Really nice and welcoming staff too. A great experience all round.
Initially booked a 3 ball and a 4 ball, I then amended my booking to 2no. 3 balls and was told I could get a refund on the day. However, on the day they would only offer club credit. Poor customer service.
Brilliant course with some lovely views, very picturesque and quiet with the exception of that sweet exploding tee shot sound echoing off the trees. The undulating fairways are smooth like a premier league pitch and greens are fast. Nice variety of holes with water in play on some and strategically placed bunkers to catch wayward drivers out. Easy to follow round with green to the next tee box being obvious. I highly recommend you play here the course is really good just as im rating the golf club i gave a 4 as no clubhouse facilities.
The course is a 5/5 though.
Great course in great condition when we played, only downside is that they seem to overfill the course with 4 balls, 3 balls 2 balls and there was even 1 guy on his own in front of us! Waited everywhere, 3 hours + for 13 holes, then we'd had enough. Would play again though, when it's quieter
This place is not only stunning from an aesthetic point of view, but was in absolutely pristine condition. Fairways were like carpet, greens were consistent. Tiny bit of drainage required in one or two small areas, but less that 1% of the whole course, so not really justifiable for the expense it would incur.
Shame there is no more clubhouse, but not marking it down on that because as a course it is just, wow.
An excellent course and a real gem. Challenging with lots of variety. Very well kept with very good fairways and excellent greens. Probably the best condition course I have played this summer and considering the brutal heat this year I felt it was in remarkable condition.
Comes well reviewed and rightly so.
